Brain, Spine & Nervous System (Neurology)

Overview

Every part of the human body depends on the nervous system to function properly. Nerves carry messages to and from the spine and the brain, which make up the central nervous system. That is what keeps the many complex functions of the body running smoothly. Damage to the brain or the spinal cord can result in a number of conditions. From complex spine and back surgery, to management of a chronic condition, to support for people living with epilepsy or nerve damage, Beverly Hospital offers exceptional care for North Shore residents.

For example:

  • The Spine Center at Beverly Hospital at Danvers is dedicated to providing advanced, comprehensive and compassionate care for individuals and their families who are challenged by spine dysfunction. The Center's multidisciplinary team includes surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, interventional pain management specialists, and radiologists, who collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and behavioral health specialists. State-of-the-art diagnostic technology and the most current treatments, including non-surgical interventions, surgery and pain management, are available to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Beverly Hospital's spine and back surgery specialists provide individuals with the most advanced non-surgical treatments, as well as modern surgical techniques, to treat disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
  • The Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine offers the most comprehensive, specialized rehabilitation services available on the North Shore. Our fully certified and licensed specialists work with a variety of rehabilitative needs in both children and adults, including recovery from sports injuries, stroke or other neurological event, spinal injuries and even broken bones.
  • The Stroke Program provides an entire continuum of care, not only through our state-of-the-art diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation capabilities, but also through education, rapid recognition, and other preventative measures that can help identify and modify stroke risk factors.
