Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals Honored with North Shore Community College Champion Award
Hospitals celebrated for community impact to higher education
Beverly, MA – Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals were honored with North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) Champion Award in recognition of their community impact in higher education.
Now in its seventh year, NSCC’s Champion Awards honor exceptional leaders dedicated to excellence in higher education and career pathways for residents of the North Shore and beyond.
In presenting the award, NSCC lauded Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals’ community-centered approach to the provision of health care and commitment to elevating the education and skills of its workforce at every level as essential to the strength and resiliency of the North Shore.
The Community Impact award is given in recognition of an individual or organization that has shown, through impactful practice, a commitment to higher education and the power it holds in empowering the communities that NSCC serves and on the lives of its citizens and the opportunities accessible to them.
Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals have collaborated with NSCC on initiatives focused on improving the lives of local residents, especially those most marginalized.
In 2022, Beverly Hospital piloted its first ESL program for its employees through NSCC, with onsite instruction led by college faculty and a 100 percent graduation rate.
Hospital leadership serve on the Advisory Board for the Bertolon Simulation Health Care Center of Excellence, providing expertise on the expansion and integration of simulation for students and for professionals seeking continuing education or teaching opportunities.
Bruce Nardella, chair of the Board of Trustees of Northeast Hospital Corporation, accepted the award on behalf of the hospitals at NSCC’s Celebration of Champions for Higher Education on April 25.
