Clinical Trials
Northeast Hospital Corporation (Addison Gilbert and Beverly Hospitals) offers National Cancer Institute (NCI) sponsored clinical trials through national clinical research groups such as Southwestern Oncology Group (SWOG), National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Eastern Oncology Oncology Group (ECOG), and the Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU).
Participation in clinical trials is entirely voluntary. Clinical trials are also not viewed as a final treatment option. Northeast Hospital Corporation is a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health System, and offers expanded opportunities for patient access to clinical trials throughout our health system.
The oncology clinical trials that are open for enrollment are aimed at reducing the morbidity and mortality of cancer, correlating biological characteristics of cancer to clinical outcomes, and also the prevention of cancer.
