Cardiac rehab at Beverly Hospital provides ongoing support for those who’ve undergone the heart procedures, including:
- Bypass surgery
- Cardiac catheterization
- Stent placement
- Valve repair
- Valve replacement

Major health insurance companies cover most parts of outpatient cardiac rehabilitation. Check with your insurance provider if you have questions about your coverage.
What to Expect
Learn more about what to expect when you participate in our cardiac rehab program.
You’ll start by undergoing a comprehensive evaluation by the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team. The evaluation consists of:
- Body composition measurement
- Graded exercise test
- Nursing assessment
- Review of personal risk factors
Your cardiac rehab team uses the results from your initial evaluation to create your personalized exercise plan. We offer structured therapeutic exercise sessions and education classes. These sessions and classes meet twice per week for up to 12 weeks.
The exercise sessions include:
- Dynamic aerobic exercises on equipment, including:
- Recumbent cycles
- Arm ergometers
- Strength training and free weights
- Warm up and cool down exercises
During the exercise sessions, your rehab team will continuously monitor your heart rate, blood pressure and vital signs. If needed, the team may perform a follow-up exercise test to assess your progress and modify your exercise program.
When you complete the outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, we can help you transition your exercise program to continue at home, or at any local health club or YMCA. We’ll teach you how to monitor yourself so you can exercise safely and with peace of mind. From aerobic exercise to health-related lectures, we’ve designed our holistic approach to Cardiac Rehabilitation to fit you and your lifestyle.
