Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Beth Israel Lahey Health Care Center - Danvers is the first in the U.S. to offer the state-of-the-art, in-bore Ambient MRI Experience – the most soothing patient environment available for MRI scans while giving physicians high-quality results.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a highly advanced, painless test that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create exceptionally clear images of the internal structures and organs of your body.
Beverly Hospital is a pioneer in MRI technology. We were the first health care facility in the area to own and operate a 3.0 Tesla scanner, the most powerful MRI scanner available. And now, the Philips Ambient Experience MRI is the newest addition to our high-tech MRI options. We invite you to watch one patient's story about how our Ambient MRI Experience changed her whole experience.

The Ultimate Patient Experience
Ambient MRI has been clinically proven to decrease anxiety and increase patient well-being. Patients can choose their own music, lighting and wall images to transform the wide and spacious MRI suite into a soothing multi-dimensional theater.
Different themes in the MRI suite allow patients to enjoy the sounds of nature as wildflowers sway in the breeze, relax in idyllic seascapes, or make a relaxing journey through Southeast Asia, to name just a few. The images they choose are projected in the scanner and on the suite’s walls and ceiling.
The Ambient MRI scanner has the widest oval open design available today. The Ambient Experience is especially recommended for patients with claustrophobia, anxiety and painful medical conditions who would benefit from a spacious and more comfortable MRI screening.
The Ambient MRI technology is also used to perform breast MRIs. Learn more.
