Intensivist Service

Board-certified intensivists from Lahey Clinic began overseeing and caring for critically ill patients in Beverly Hospital's 12-bed intensive Care Unit in 2005.  This collaboration further enhances the level of tertiary services available in the community and better serves the critical care needs of patients on the North Shore. 

The Lahey Intensivists are on site and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and triage decisions.  They oversee the care and resuscitation of patients, weaning from mechanical ventilation, placement of specialized catheters to enhance monitoring and day-to-day aspects of all patient care.
