Our Hernia Specialists
Dr. Collins attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery residency and Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery fellowship at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. She has been board certified by the American College of Surgeons since 2022.
Dr. Collins specializes in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic), including gastrointestinal, hernia, solid organ and weight loss surgery.
Dr. Peter Gill earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, and completed his surgical residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland in 1987. After separating from active duty in the U.S. Navy, he joined a Brown University affiliated practice in Pawtucket and Providence, Rhode Island practicing there for over 25 years. He was also the Surgeon in Chief at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island from years 2012 to 2016.
Dr. Gill has been board certified by the American Board of Surgery since 1987. His interests include laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and surgical oncology.
Dr. Gill was the pioneer in laparoscopic hernia surgery in Rhode Island. He started the first dedicated Hernia Center in New England, specializing in all types of abdominal wall defects, and advanced abdominal wall reconstruction utilizing minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Reuben Shin joined our North Shore practice in 2018. Dr. Shin attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his General Surgery residency at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. He then continued his training at Brigham and Women’s hospital, completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive, Advanced Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery. He is a General and Bariatric Surgeon and has been board certified by the America College of Surgeons since 2018.
Dr. Shin specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including gastrointestinal, hernia, solid organ (adrenal and spleen) and weight loss surgery.
