Beverly Hospital's Cardiovascular Center offers advanced care in a convenient and easily accessible location for individuals diagnosed with, or at risk for, cardiovascular disease. The goal of our state-of-the art program is to provide patients with timely, accurate diagnoses and therapies for cardiovascular disease. We identify, treat and provide follow up care for individuals with cardiovascular diagnoses using a coordinated team approach. We work with you, your family, and your physician to help you continue, or return to, your normal daily activities.  The primary goal of our Cardiovascular Center is to improve your quality of life. We consider your needs and lifestyle to ensure your personal cardiovascular management plan is designed to help you maintain the best health possible. 

The Cardiovascular Center's program begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your specific problem and medical history. Our multidisciplinary team includes specially trained, board-certified cardiologists and electrophysiology specialists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, nurse practitioners, and radiology and imaging technologists. In conjunction with your referring physician, this team will develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. In addition, our cardiovascular nurse navigators are available to guide you through your care from screening to cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, through to follow up and surveillance. 

Cardiovascular Diagnoses We Treat

The Cardiovascular Center specialists have the ability, utilizing advanced technologies, to screen for, diagnose, treat, and manage the following cardiovascular diseases, among others: 

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
  • Cardiac Arrhythmias (Irregular heart rhythms)
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Carotid Artery Disease
  • Coronary Artery (Heart) Disease
  • High Cholesterol
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Peripheral Arterial (Arms and Legs) Disease
  • Renal Arterial (Kidney) Disease 

Diagnosis and Options for Treatment

Sophisticated and timely diagnostic technologies are of paramount importance in assuring the most accurate evaluation and management of uncommon and common cardiovascular diseases and diagnoses. The following diagnostics are available onsite: 

  • Coronary and non-coronary CT Angiography utilizing 64-Slice CT
  • Echocardiography
  • Exercise Stress Testing
  • Nuclear Medicine Stress Testing
  • Vascular Ultrasound Studies, including:
  •      Carotid Artery Ultrasound
  •      Noninvasive Arterial Studies to assess Peripheral Vascular Disease
  •      Venous Ultrasound Studies of the legs and arms 
  •      Bypass Graft Ultrasound
  •      AV Fistula Ultrasound for individuals receiving kidney dialysis
  • Electrocardiography (EKG)
  • Cardiac Event Monitoring
  • Holter Monitoring
  • Laboratory Services

  •      Risk Factors for Coronary Artery Disease (blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking, lifestyle)
  • Ambulatory/Medical Day Care infusions/ minor procedures

  • Entry into disease management services onsite at the Lifestyle Management Institute for counseling, education, and monitored exercise program
