Dr. Frank Carbone Jr. Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Former Beverly Hospital and Lahey Clinic physician Frank Carbone Jr., MD, has been honored by the Massachusetts Medical Society as the 2016 recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Former Beverly Hospital and Lahey Clinic physician Frank Carbone Jr., MD, has been honored by the Massachusetts Medical Society as the 2016 recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is given to a member of the Society who has made lasting contributions to the practice of medicine over a lifetime in health care delivery, patient care, education, and administration and who has made significant contributions to the goals of the Society. He will receive the award, the Society’s most prestigious honor, at the organization’s annual meeting in Boston on May 5.
In nominating him for the award, colleagues noted Dr. Carbone’s many years of leadership activities in medicine at the local, state and national levels, and cited his “key roles in mentoring and developing leaders at both the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American Medical Association, by encouraging physicians young and old to participate, get involved, and represent the physician-patient relationship.”
Dr. Carbone was on the Medical Staff of Beverly Hospital for four decades, serving as a member of the Executive Committee and as Medical Staff President. From 1994-2013, he was on staff of the Lahey Clinic and was appointed to the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Emeritus Staff in 2013, when he retired.
