Physicians Recognized by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
(Beverly, MA) – Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals recently announced that the physician members of the Northeast Physician Hospital Organization (NEPHO), the physician organization affiliated with the hospitals, were recognized by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) by being named to the 2007 Physician Group Honor Roll in recognition of outstanding commitment to high-quality care.
For the fifth year in a row, the NEPHO physicians received the HPHC’s Honor Roll award, given to physician groups and healthcare systems that achieve the top performance level on a series of clinical quality measures, ranging from breast cancer screening to various areas of diabetes management.
"We are extremely pleased to be recognized for the fifth year in a row with this honor," said Jeanne Holland, the executive director of NEPHO. "This absolutely confirms the exceptionally high quality of care our hospitals and our physicians deliver in the preventive and chronic care domains."
In addition, this year HPHC named Beverly Hospital to the First Annual Hospital Honor Roll, which acknowledges acute care hospitals with scores in the top 25% of the quality measures reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Leapfrog Group for Patient Safety, organizations that gather and report information on hospital quality and patient safety efforts. Beverly Hospital was one of only eight organizations in Massachusetts to have both the hospital and physician group receive honor roll status from HPHC.
