PRESS RELEASES
Pastoral Care Coordinator Recognized
One of three people honored at the annual chaplain dinner, Rossi is recognized for her dedicated care to patients, their families and to staff. She has also worked with the Beverly Hospital information systems department to initiate two successful computer programs for record-keeping and documentation of patient care. The programs provide detailed information about each patient’s religious needs or requests so Rossi can ensure they are getting the highest level of specialized care.
"She really set herself apart by going the extra mile and utilizing technology to improve the pastoral care of our patients," said Father Jack Crabb, chaplain supervisor of pastoral care at Beverly Hospital.
Rossi has been Pastoral Care Coordinator at Beverly Hospital for eight years. Praised by her peers for her communication skills, Rossi coordinates visits between the patients, priests and Eucharistic ministers, who administer communion. She spends quality time with the patients on her own, engaging in religious-based discussions and catering to the level of spiritual care they need.
"I feel very surprised and very grateful," said Rossi. "I can’t believe they’re giving me this award."
Prior to her work at Beverly Hospital, Rossi received a PhD in English Literature and taught for 20 years at Merrimack College. She then attended Boston College, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry. Rossi currently resides in Haverhill, MA.
