Associate Vice President of Support Services
(Beverly, MA) – Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals recently welcomed Marblehead resident Edmund Lydon to the position of Associate Vice President of Support Services.
As the Associate Vice President of Support Services, Lydon oversees the daily operations of support departments for both hospitals as well as the Beverly Hospital at Danvers Medical and Day Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art regional care facility designed to provide the North Shore with advanced outpatient care, and BayRidge Hospital in Lynn. Support departments include those that are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hospitals, including facilities management, telecommunications, security and environmental services, among others.
Lydon has many years of experience in different facets of healthcare. Prior to his position with Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals, Lydon held a similar position at Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital Medical Center, located in Plattsburgh, NY, where he was instrumental in their daily operations as well as the completion of their master facilities plan and planning for emergency preparedness. Lydon has also improved the care environment of healthcare facilities throughout the country through his consulting, used to prepare healthcare organizations for surveys by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, an independent, not-for-profit organization designed to improve patient care and considered to be the nation’s predominant accrediting body in healthcare.

Lydon earned his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies with a certificate in Small Business Management from Johnson State College in Johnson, VT. In addition to his extensive training in emergency management and safety, Lydon is a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager and Facilities Management Administrator.
